Revil was pretty annoying but the story was pretty good even if the ending does not really feel like an ending also the dark riders actually do not appear that often in the story. But still the art was ok and I do like the relationship between Karlain and his son even if again their story also feels a bit rushed.
Apr 06, Abigail rated it really liked it. A mage and priest join forces to recover a mysterious artifact, leading them to Duskwood and encounters with a dangerous Wolf Cult. A fairly straight forward tale, easy to follow and understand. Another great graphic novel for the World of Warcraft fandom.
Sep 24, Jeremy Randall rated it it was amazing. Interesting characters. It had it all. Loved how magic was portrayed too. Never seen anything from the world of warcraft world. Feb 01, Nayari rated it it was amazing. Really enjoyed this! Compelling characters, intriguing storylines, really showed the classes too. And some humor thrown in. Might actually buy this one. Nov 19, Yuiko rated it liked it. The art is beautiful but I grew bored of this quickly.
Very sudden end without any conclusion of story points. It's very dissapointing story wise, the art is very beautiful tho, specially the alex horley cover. They reminded me a bit too much of some of the worst players one can get randomly grouped up with.
There was one character did enjoy, but through the stupidity of the lead characters, he doesn't make it to the end of the story. The over all story was just okay. It feels like it takes a back seat to getting the unlikeable characters established, and then reappears just when a new character is introduced. And when I say "reappears", I mean when th I didn't care much for any of the main characters.
And when I say "reappears", I mean when the new character shows up he info dumps an explanation of what's going on because he wants help with what he's doing. May 05, Mary rated it liked it Shelves: first-reads , owned-books.
I was hoping for more development of characters and plot. I fully expected a "suspense" ending of the written work as a lead-in to the gamescape, where all would be resolved in the gaming.
But, the story seemed shallow to me, even if the art was well done. And to have no mystery concerning "Dark Riders" by the end of the story-even have the Riders "done in" by story end-left me feeling unsatisfied overall. Taken as a "stand alone" graphic novel, I would say "okay" but not great. Jul 19, Melissa rated it liked it. I won this through goodreads first read. I liked the illustrations and the book its self is pretty cool.
My son took the book from me and said it was the coolest book ever. I have never played the game but my son says it's just like the game. So I think if you're a gamer you will love it and your kids probably will too. Aug 10, Wayne Butler rated it liked it. The Good: quality artwork, authentic to setting, mostly easy to follow and navigate The Bad: tropes, cliches, and obvious choices are abundant with a thinly veiled and clumsy commentary on faith vs logic. May 28, Austin Zook rated it liked it.
It wasn't earth-shatteringly good, but it was a solid story. The artwork was cartoonish, like WoW comics are, but sometimes it fell flat for me--the eyes were just weird to look at in some panels. They were buggy and misshapen. Enjoyed revisiting some characters that were present in other Extended Universe stories coupled with lore present since vanilla. Nice companion piece, but little worth past that.
Fantastic art. Couldn't rate it higher. Jun 15, Michael Alexander rated it liked it Shelves: video-games , fantasy , graphic-novel. Not too bad. The art is nice, and it's fun to visit Azeroth from time to time. The titular Dark Riders have a fairly minor role in the story. It's due to the aforementioned Dalaran hovering issue and I did see a workaround involving the quest you can pick up from the new Dalaran that involves Ulduar and Brann and do that part over, but I haven't tested it yet and the post was on the EU boards, which is currently down.
This is ridiculous. It got rid of the duplicate Dalaran that hovered above Kara. If you haven't completed The Diamond King quest line, completing it should fix the issue. Hope this helps. Comment by arjung So for those of you who stealthed to the last boss and killed him, make sure to kill the mobs that Revile is fighting right outside boss room, then he comes in and u can turn in. Comment by soJlith I resolved the bug where the catacombs are empty by completing all the quests up in dalaran until the point it's teleported to the broken isles.
Comment by Deastrumquodvici If, for whatever reason, you can't figure out how to get past the grabby hands, you need to cast a ranged interrupt--for Balance, that was Solar Beam. Although it should be noted that Dash will get you through them, though it doesn't count in the game's logic. Not sure about the other specs or even how many other druid specs come through here.
Comment by systa entrance is at Defeat him. Comment by drodekirk Hope this makes things a little easier for someone Balance is my druid's weakest spec. Some of the Scythe of Elune quests can be difficult - really difficult for someone who is not familiar with Balance. I wanted to do all four weapons so I found that I could pick up and turn in quests in Balance spec and do the fighting in any spec.
I did the quest "The Dark Riders" hardest for me in Guardian spec. Comment by Rapscal "The catacombs? I've never heard of such a place.
Unless he means Comment by Brunhill i used tiger dash to get past the mobs but that wasn't what the scenerio needed. Use Solar Beam on the boss you can reach him from in front of the mobs to dispel the mobs. This is of course, in Balance spec. Comment by Troo Unsure if this is a new bug or not as it's been a long time since I did this questline originally.. Had to use my Dalaran hearth so I could use the Dreamgrove teleport.
Comment by Judicator You don't get Solar Beam until level 26 now, so it appears you can't finish this quest until then despite being able to get it right away. Comment by Artaios Shadowlands pre-patch. Took this quest at level Got to this this point and realized Solar Beam is learned at level Activated Resto, used Regrowth, Rejuv, Dash and just as I was about to die, used Swiftmend and died just short of the finish line.
Tried it again and just barely squeaked through by mere single digit hitpoints. Comment by Lazarento If you are a fresh created Balance Druid, right now on pre-patch is impossible to finish this questline because it requires Solar Beam which is only available at level Comment by Ozium As of 9. You need Solar Beam to pass the Grasping Hands and you don't get it until level Either pick a new timeline or don't take Balance first.
Comment by alwayz15 I was able to get past this part. Real simple, all you have to do is die! Release, then turn around and open the gate and walk outside.
Walk back in and it advances you to the next stage. You have to kill a mob, in the room you were stuck at, but they you are free to continue along the quest chain. Got the scythe at lvl Comment by Death I rolled a druid and got to this quest around L.
I tried for a long time, with many deaths, to cross the Grasping Spirits; I tried following the tips in some of the recent comments here. Nothing worked. Frustrated, about to log off, I decided to check out the druid Discord server.
